Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
This herb is carminative, antispasmodic, diaphoretic, febrifuge, vasodilating and stimulates bile production. It’s good for the digestive system; it stimulates the digestive glands, i.e. gastric fluids, bile and pancreatic juices. It’s also a good antispasmodic agent for the digestive system, quells abdominal pain really quickly making it a tea everyone should have at home. It’s a mild herb that is good for morning sickness, IBS, bloating, stomach cramps and colds in the upper respiratory system.
Active ingredients: E.g. Essential Oils (Menthol), Flavonoids, Phenolic Acids and Triterpenes.
How to use: 1 – 4 g of dried herb in a cup of boiling water, steeped for 15 minutes, up to 3 times a day.
