Dandelion Leaves - 50 g
Dandelion leaves (Taraxacum officinalis folia)
Dandelion leaves are diuretic and strengthen the digestive system and the liver. Scientific experiments done on the leaves have shown that you have to use 8 gr per kg of body weight. That means that for a 60 kg person you need to use 480 gr per day, which is a lot, but it’s more effective than 80 mg of Frusemide, which is a prescription diuretic. One of the advantages of Dandelion leaves is that they prevent the loss of potassium, something which can be a problem with prescription diuretics. Their main use is as a diuretic, to get rid of excess fluids in the body, but they are also good for liver problems. It’s good to eat the leaves in early spring, just add them to your salad and have a spring cleaning for your body.
